The noise Bill Ackman and Elon Musk have created by irresponsibly attacking DEI as “racist” and “illegal” is concerning to witness but not entirely surprising given prevailing misunderstandings around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
On the other hand, companies opting to abolish DEI programming will not only lose valuable talent from underrepresented backgrounds but also the proven ROI derived from diverse teams, harming their businesses as a result.
This shouldn't be misconstrued as a complete abandonment of diversity and inclusion efforts yet an approach to navigate through external distractions and concentrate on implementing impactful strategies and programs for their employees.

I will create a space for Black women to simply exist, to BE—with no expectations.
Because right now, this sh*t is exhausting and collectively as Black women, WE ARE TIRED.
Yet as always…shoutout to Black women who hold each other down. 👑🖤
For anyone Black who’s lived in SF, this data isn’t surprising or needed to quantify our experiences. Yet now that the city has it, what are they doing about it?
Also, for Tech companies who *still* question why Black professionals do not want to relocate to SF…take notes.

51% white
37% Asian
16% Latine
5.7% Black (less than 50k)
YET for every 10 Black SF residents, 2.3 will be pulled over by police—6x ⬆️ than white residents, 17x ⬆️ than Asian residents.
