@s8mb And it's pretty easy to get up to York on the train for the National Railway Museum. Our son also loved (still loves) seeing the statues of Brunel and Gresley at Paddington and King's Cross.
@Section10Pod Ha, you guys should check out the Aussie cricketer Glen McGrath and his predictions whenever Australia play England! Anyway, go Sox, Yankees suck.
@AdamSants_ I'm with you on the joke but for my 7 yr old, who I took last year to his 1st cricket matches, he did build an affinity and identity with 'his' team (London Spirit), as that's what he knows and what he's seen, so even on the Franchises' own terms, the changing is a bad idea.
@CapelLofft If you're thinking for your son, there's a good audio book for kids read by Sean Bean that our kids listen to repeatedly on long car journeys (on Naxos Junior Classics)
@MahanEsfahani It's in the Alan Bennett play where one of them complains about history as being "just one f'ing thing after another", though is apparently a lift of Arnold Toynbee making the same joke. It always comes to mind for every Mahler symph, just a very long succession of bits of music.
