@translationtalk#translationchallenges come up when a Deaf translator depends on auto-captioning! Tibetan to English then ASL like ‘Dzogchen’ into ‘suction’ and there is a pause with a hmmmm in the flow :)
This is an issue of access to information and Deaf mentors for families, and a massive issue of language deprivation for our deaf kids. Families who have a deaf child should meet a Deaf mentor before they meet literally anyone else re: their child's deafness.
