The last Boeing 727 ever built is still airworthy and has a very important job (clue in the livery!). In this video you can see the combination of a team of three awesome aviators + 75t of deliciously analogue trijet skim the North Sea at 150ft and 170mph. Many thanks to @2Excel_Aviation and @oilspillexperts for this unique insight into their super cool ops!
@wholemars We hear less about structural batteries these days - at least about structural at the cell level. I’m still hoping we’ll eventually see stress-carrying electrodes.
@TeslaJigsaw It all just increased my resolve to visit and see (taste) for myself next time I’m in CA. For what it’s worth, the Google review histogram is at odds with their opinion.
@scottiebateman@Hush_Kit@IvorGCampbell As good as TP teams get (probably the Swiss PC-7 Team?), they still sound like a swarm of angry bees trapped in a jar.
This is probably the best look at the shockwaves I’ve seen from the latest Starship flight.
Captured from a GoPro I clamped onto a proper camera to record simultaneous video. (I’ll show you the photo the better camera took in the reply)
@RAeSTimR Engraving ‘2026’ onto the imaginary goblet of sadness alongside 2021, 2020, and the annus horribilis of 2008… The new countdown to the next show on the website though, at 419 days now, is just brutal 🙁
@tomhfh As much as I love all things connected, I don’t think I’d like a 1.5kW motor running in my house when I’m not there. Of course, modern washing machines have all sorts of protections, and fires are rare, but I’d still feel uneasy.
I nearly got caught out by this years ago when, on an A-B-C + C-B-A booking, I wanted to drive the C-B leg (would have helped fit in an unexpected meeting). My employer’s travel agent warned me that they’d cancel the whole itinerary if I did that. I wonder why they don’t ‘forgive’ return leg no-shows by someone who had dutifully flown the full outbound itinerary?
Was this the largest number of aircrew saved in a single incident by Martin-Baker seats? The collision and the really awkward angles (aircraft tangled up) make this all the more remarkable. Hats off to MB for the superb engineering achievement.
Yesterday, two Boeing E/A-18G Growlers collided mid-air during an airshow demonstration at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.
All four pilots successfully ejected using the Martin-Baker US14A (NACES) Ejection Seat.

Once a small YouTube channel, now a mighty force for good, @FullyChargedShw have their #FullyChargedOutside EV+clean tech show on this weekend at Farnborough, well worth a visit. Check out the first Tesla Model Y in the UK and many other cool toys (some you can test drive!)🚙
@TeslaJigsaw I’ve had the same trajectory. Just looked up my rather excited post from the FCS of five years ago… Quite sad that, for the reasons you so eloquently explain in your video, they are completely off my radar now (which I’m sure they couldn’t care less about).
