@bphillipsonMP Yes!! I am so excited that you are focusing on this. Please read my research through the Churchill Fellowship into how schools can do exactly this https://t.co/rx19pHCeoh
@head_plate@Headteacherchat I had handwritten reports as a child. I also remember two weeks of watching films in most lessons while the teachers wrote those reports.
@MzBelindaW@mumsrsmart@StuartLock Iโm with you- we need to reach our children how to advocate for themselves. They learn that by watching us advocate for them. We need to demonstrate calm and appropriate challenge.
@DeputyGrocott Iโm off the opinion that the massive change theyโre undergoing at this stage means they regress. You need to support them again like you did when they were starting reception. Teach them strategies to help support themselves over time. I donโt agree with Sun or swim strategies.
@AashaCowey @VanessaWrites Yes this! I was told nothing much had changed but spent the next few months finding out a lot had changed and really felt out of place because of it.
@Cotswold_Chris @EllieMarshyKaye @woollyvix That sounds ideal. What I got was a continuous stream about his academic levels. Heโd only just moved to the school a month before so all we really wanted to know was how he was settling in and if heโd made friends.
@Lifeis13526469 I completely agree. My 7 year old goes to breakfast and after school Club add we both with full time. Any time we have with him midweek is so precious that we donโt want to spend it fighting him to do motherโs homework. Keep the reading though. I love the reading.
@bjaerosmith @woollyvix I hope so too. Hopefully sheโd given the other parents more space to talk. That dialogue between parents and teachers is so important. In guess with new technology itโs bound to have teething problems.
@EllieMarshyKaye @woollyvix Iโm not sure what the solution is. I worry if you did that youโd get inundated with questions. I reckon a couple of extra minutes would have done the trick in our case.
@FionaJarman1@sencochat@ThriveApproach Thanks for this. I work in a youth work setting so looking for how we can transfer this excellent practice to our setting. Iโll get in contact.
