Listening to the Archetype podcast’s November episode, and I continue to marvel at the interesting generational gap between feminists like Gloria Steinem and women of my generation. The conversation about Housewives is fascinating.
Simplest and best tribute to exemplify the Barbara Walters legacy :
On her final show on The View, they just brought one female journalist after another to honour her. All ages, races, from NBC to FOX, to say thank you. She’s completely overwhelmed and touched.
I love my husband for many reasons but high on the list is that we have the same philosophy on how long before a flight one should get to the airport. I cannot imagine the angst of being in that kind of interfaith marriage.
Don’t walk, run, to see this play at @DetPubTheatre! It is an incredibly moving play with performances that will stay with you forever. To paraphrase an audience member, you will walk away a more empathetic person because you will inherit the raw emotions of the characters.
I know I’m likely very alone in this, but this is part of the reason why I stand by Carter being my favorite president. The man is good to his core. Every so often I read another thing about him that affirms that belief.
This is an insane thing to say. 40 yrs of US academic research on the Carter admin makes that clear. Carter literally send Khomeini a letter threatening another coup if he were to return to Tehran (to finish the revolution).
This clip 😭😭😭 has me undone. And the tears we see are not from losing but from the heartbreak of players being used as pawns and for a country unable to even enjoy & cheer its own team due to the oppression of its government. The American player’s kindness is beautiful.
The best of humanity on display: after USA defeated Iran in the World Cup, the players shared an emotional moment, showing how sportsmanship can transcend geopolitics.

Classy indeed. And how cynical and absurd for the Iranians to cast stones about discrimination! They’re running a regime of gender apartheid and religious tyranny.
This is unbelievable…
Watch @J_Klinsmann dismiss brown athletes, from Iran to Guatemala, repeatedly saying “this is their culture”, while the host and other guests are sitting there listening to him go on and on, live on @BBCSport.

Iran completely dominated an abysmal Wales side & deservedly won that match. The BBC’s analysis - Jurgen Klinsmann in particular - implying they only won because of the ref/their “gamesmanship” & they’re essentially cheats because it’s “in their culture” is an absolute disgrace.
