🥎 STOP CHASING THE DIVISION. START CHASING THE RIGHT FIT.

One of the biggest mistakes I see in recruiting is athletes feeling pressured by comments like:

“Why aren’t you going D1?”
“You could play at a higher level.”

Here’s the truth:

College softball isn’t about the logo on your jersey. It’s about finding the place where you’ll succeed for the next four years.

Every level—NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and JUCO—has outstanding coaches, talented players, competitive softball, and incredible academic opportunities.

What matters most is finding a program where:
🥎 You’re valued as a person, not just another name on the roster.
🎓 Your academic goals are supported.
📈 You have the opportunity to grow and contribute.
🤝 The coaching staff communicates honestly.
🏡 The team culture feels like home.

I’ve seen athletes choose a school because of the division, only to end up unhappy, buried on the depth chart, or transferring a year later.

The best commitment isn’t the highest division. It’s the best fit.

Go where you’ll be challenged.
Go where you’ll be supported.
Go where you’ll grow as both a player and a person.

Every opportunity to play college softball is an incredible accomplishment.

Choose fit over prestige. Your future self will thank you.

The right coach isn’t just recruiting talent… they’re recruiting character.

College coaches notice more than your batting average.

They notice:
✅ The way you respond after striking out.
✅ How you cheer for a teammate who just took your position.
✅ Whether your effort stays the same when no one is watching.
✅ The attitude you bring to every practice.

Your film gets you seen.

Your character gets you remembered.

Keep working. Keep posting your journey. Keep trusting God’s timing, even when the offers don’t come as fast as you hoped.

Your opportunity is being built long before it’s announced.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23
