🇧🇫 Just In: A strategic bridge was inaugurated this morning by Burkina Faso's Prime Minister, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.

The bridge is located on the road that links Ouagadougou to the country's second-largest city, Bobo-Dioulasso.

Every year, that section of the road used to be submerged several times due to heavy rains during the rainy season. This would cut off the road for extended periods, severely disrupting the transportation of people and goods between the country's two major cities. Fixing this problem is a major achievement for the government. Congrats 👏

No investment, no foreign investment or man power in the construction, just ordinary Africans coming together and doing extraordinary things.

L’Armée de l’Air burkinabè a franchi une étape majeure dans sa quête de souveraineté en procédant à la sortie officielle, le 19 juin 2026, de la première promotion de sous-officiers mécaniciens entièrement formés sur le territoire national.

La cérémonie s’est déroulée le vendredi dans l’enceinte de la Base Aérienne 210 de Bobo-Dioulasso, en présence de plusieurs autorités militaires et civiles…

Cette première promotion est le fruit de la dynamique de renforcement de la souveraineté nationale impulsée par les plus hautes autorités du pays.

Créée le 9 septembre 2024, l’École militaire des technologies aéronautiques (EMTA) a pour mission d’assurer la formation initiale et le perfectionnement des sous-officiers de l’Armée de l’Air

Interesting how the conversation is changing.

Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma now concedes that South African men commit the majority of crimes such as CIT heists, cash-in-transit robberies, murders, armed robberies, gender-based violence, hijackings and other serious offences.

For years, Julius Malema has argued that South Africans shouldn't blame every crime on foreign nationals, saying many of the country's violent crimes are committed by locals.

Now the phones are beginning to acknowledge that organised crime is a far more complex issue than simply pointing fingers at immigrants.

Maybe the debate should focus on crime itself, regardless of who commits it, because criminals don't carry a nationality when they break the law.
