Ottoman Syria was split into Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and the Sinai peninsula was given to Egypt. 3/4 of those got Arab rule while ignoring Kurds, Assyrians, Armenians, Druze etc. Jews got a scrap and were evicted from the rest.

Historical Palestine, never a country, nor a culture, nor an ethnicity, is Jordan. The Palestinian cause is a 60s Soviet creation.

They revere Saddam Hussein, started wars in countries they were in, assassinated 3 Jordanian leaders. Israel vs Palestine - both losers.

@WSPHTwit @ClaireBBennett @TheWantonWench No, that's completely possible. The simplified eye colour genetics you learn in school is just that, oversimplified. Brown-eyed children is perfectly possible for two blue-eyed parents, though less likely. (Source - my multiple degrees on the subject.)

@KarynNicholas @lisabell_m @TheWantonWench Human genetics is not that simple. Think of the children who are pale blondes but grow up brunette. Two of my sisters had the straightest silkiest hair as children that then turned course and curly as teens, type 3/4. It's pretty common in West Asian/ Mediterranean people.

There was a solar eclipse today so the moon is too close to the sun to be seen. They knew there would be no moon tonight, so had to get ahead.

I realized that's why there were such late announcements in the night when it was during the summer - Saudi's day length doesn't change too much throughout the year, Iran's changes a lot more, so later sightings.

It was impossible to see today as there was a solar eclipse earlier, the moon is too close to the sun. The Saudi's are flawed human, not God.
