BREAKING: Katie Phang scores MAJOR victory as federal judge orders Trump's Justice Department to PROVE its Epstein secrecy is legal!

Journalist and attorney Katie Phang just won another major victory in her fight to force the release of Jeffrey Epstein records after a federal judge refused to simply take Donald Trump's Justice Department at its word.

In a new order issued today, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan directed Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to personally deliver unredacted Epstein documents and emails to the court, along with evidence supporting the Justice Department's sweeping redactions.

Instead of accepting the administration's explanations, Sullivan is insisting on examining the records HIMSELF to determine whether the government is legally entitled to keep them hidden.

In essence, Judge Sullivan is telling Trump's Justice Department that if it wants to shield records connected to one of the most notorious child sex trafficking cases in American history, it will have to PROVE the law is on its side.

It's also the latest rebuke for Trump's DOJ in the case, which the former MS NOW host has taken the lead on moving forward in the absence of meaningful action from Congress.

Earlier, Sullivan had rejected the DOJ’s effort to dismiss Phang's lawsuit and concluded it had effectively conceded it was violating the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act.

"The Attorney General does not respond substantively to any of these arguments," Judge Sullivan wrote. "The Attorney General has conceded that he is in violation of the Act."

The records include heavily redacted emails, FBI investigative materials and other documents tied to the Epstein investigation.

The Justice Department argues many of the redactions are necessary to protect victims and law enforcement personnel, while Phang argues the department has failed to comply with the law Congress passed requiring broad public disclosure of the files.

Phang celebrated the ruling on Threads.

"Judge Sullivan has just ordered Blanche to produce... the UNREDACTED emails & documents, and Blanche must bring documentation supporting his representations the DOJ's redactions are what he claims they are."

Of course, the Justice Department insists it has done nothing wrong and plans to appeal. But before they can, Todd Blanche must place the unredacted Epstein files directly into Judge Sullivan's hands.

This will allow the court, not Trump's flunky Justice Department, to decide whether Americans are seeing the whole truth about one of the most disturbing criminal scandals in modern history.

The results could be electrifying.
