okay, we're gonna attempt an intro thread!
we don't really do the assign-emojis-and-sign-tweets thing bc we're hopeless at registering/decoding/tracking emojis
we sometimes say "i" when we mean "we" and vice versa, sorry in advance lol
thread continues here:
e is our main fronter, they age with the body (30s)
they/them is fine, gender is very idiosyncratic so we won't go into that, lots of body dysphoria
deliberately created around body age 16-18 bc jess and sam were sick of handling life
deals with a lot of the "adulting"
Trans Lifeline does not engage in non-consensual active rescue. Call us if you or someone you know is in crisis. We have always been divested from the police. That means that if you call us and are in crisis, we will NOT call 911 or the police! #Divest https://t.co/pbSRLr2Y4H
@crys64sys i think it's just me in here that fits this - i don't id as trans bc in my canon i grew up cis/in the right body/etc, it only somewhat doesn't fit now that i'm here sharing this trans body. so i feel like i'm still cis just... transplanted like i got put in a new container. -mike
Reminder that if you're against self-diagnosis, you're racist, misogynistic, fatmisic, transmisic, queermisic and all the rest.
If you don't want people to have to rely on self-diagnosis, help overthrow capitalism and decolonize healthcare.
@JellybeansThe @MarekaiSys omg we have a similar set up! well close. our main fronter is almost always around (just with others corunning) and can't voluntarily switch out/take a break. but in our case others can shove them out during extreme circumstances to protect them.
@EmmAntifa @Owlsyspeeps the way we usually handle this is that our main fronter has given the others advance permission to do this, so it's a non issue. w/o permission we might have more varied opinions on it.
A reminder for you people that say you don't care about skin color or "don't see color".
This also applies to things beyond police brutality, like making your programs inclusive and including POC. (I'm looking at you Mars man)
@NebulaCOLL @AltairiaL yeah we say that they’re relatives rather than family helps some, we also refer to one parent by their first name or “our abuser” rather than referencing parenthood at all
Tw: ableism, murder, abuse
Having abled parents is actually incredibly hard for most of us disabled people, but no one ever really considers that and certainly would never offer sympathy if we lashed out *at all*, let alone murdered them, even in cases of abuse.
Words that acknowledge your privilege & literally just exist as descriptors of not being something are not slurs & acting like they are just shows your privilege so fucking much.
Neurotypical is not a slur.
Cisgender is not a slur.
TERF is not a slur.
White person is not a slur.
An aspect of trans healthcare reform that I don't see enough chat about is removing the arbitrary BMI requirements on gender affirming surgeries.
Apparently fat trans ppl don't deserve to feel gender congruence and at home in their bodies 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
