Just wanted to quickly advertise a really exciting new result just obtained by ALMA involving the detection (6.6 sigma) of the [OIII]88 line at z=14.1793 put together by an awesome PhD student in Leiden with the name of Sander Schouws. The [OIII]88 line detection was found by
Are you an ECR? Do you like #JWST ? High-z galaxies/SMBHs? Skiing/curling/ice-skating in the Swiss Alps?
Applications are now open for the 54th Saas-Fee Course on "Galaxies and Black Holes in the 1 Gyr as seen with the JWST" - Jan 27-31, 2025 - more info: https://t.co/NqH5vQ3KR5

Never complain again about JWST/ALMA being oversubscribed: "The number of hours requested by proposals in period 114 on UT4 amounted to 28.7 the available time" 🤯🤯🤯
A&A letter led by @aliceschimek: we explored FIR line ratios involving [CII]158, [OIII]88, [OIII]52, [NII]
122 and [NIII]57, detectable in the submm with @almaobs and @atlast_design at high z and potential diagnostics of ISM and CGM gas properties https://t.co/HlLfEGVcwt
Dropped on arXiv today "The First Billion Years, according to JWST" a snapshot of the great progress made by JWST in the understanding of the early chapters of our cosmic history🎇 written by the attendees of the 2024 @ISSIBern Breakthrough Workshop.🤩 💫✨
Io, satellite of Jupiter, seen in visible band with an adaptive optics system on the Large Binocular Telescope located in Arizona. We can now say than AO on ground-based telescope is now better than space telescopes even in optical. https://t.co/D0OAbUnGCj
Two weeks ago I posted to the arXiv the result of an unbiased search for 6.8<z<9.0 [OIII] emitters in the GOODS fields using FRESCO data. Lots of high-z galaxies, interesting constraints for theorists, and hopefully lots of legacy science. https://t.co/ybQfeIxEHs
Let me finish this thread by thanking the FRESCO team without which this would not be possible, as well as everyone who has contributed and/or contributes to making JWST a phenomenal observatory for high-redshift science.
