Whenever I go a long time without tweeting or retweeting, I always end up putting an inappropriate amount out pressure on my return. This is mostly just to say that I hope everyone else doesn't do the same...
Davey Johnson tributes from his former Mets' players:
Darryl Strawberry: “Davey Johnson was the greatest manager I ever played for. He let us do our own thing. This is a sad day for the Mets and for the 1986 Mets family.”
Keith Hernandez: “Without a doubt he saved my career. He let me be myself on the field. He knew when to be tough and when to take it easier. It was a joy playing for him.”
Mookie Wilson: "He was just a player's manager. He made it fun to go to the field. He laid down the law when needed, but other times he just let us play.”
Dwight Gooden: "He took a chance on me when I was 19. Davey wasn’t afraid to make a tough decision. I know I wouldn’t have had the career I did without him.”
Ron Darling: “Getting to the major leagues is tough. Succeeding in the major leagues is even harder, and to accomplish that you need a guardian angel. Davey was my guardian angel.”
Roger McDowell: “Davey was really a forward thinker. He knew his players strengths and weaknesses. He always set us up to have success as a team and individually. Our Met family has lost a quality man.”
It was a rough Mets loss but I got Juan Soto’s signature at my 22nd game of the season and he went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks so numerology says I can’t be that upset.
White privilege is storming the Capitol of the United States and instead of getting shot, beaten or arrested, you are politely escorted out and given a snack.
I have a policy of typing out tweets and then waiting 5 mins to see if I want to actually send it once the raw emotions pass. Let’s just say today I’m adding a lot to the draft stockpile.
@studwell727 Who needs a military when you’re armed with white supremacy? Though we’re still waiting for a confirmed explanation for the lack of National Guard presence...
