IRLS Senior Director and Professor Amb. Clint Williamson, who serves as the Presiding Arbitrator of the Arbitral Tribunal for Brčko, traveled to Bosnia-Herzegovina last week for a 4-day official visit to meet with senior officials and learn about the current situation there.

In meetings with Brčko officials, Amb. Williamson emphasized that Brčko is an example of successful post-war reconciliation and coexistence and urged authorities to continue expanding good governance reforms, infrastructure development, and private sector growth in the District.

With recent controversies such as the Facebook Papers, it has become apparent that the US model is failing, especially in regards to the protection of liberal democracy. With the status quo no longer sustainable, @anubradford looked to Europe's success in calling for regulation.

At today's event hosted by @ColumbiaLaw's CALGA, @anubradford discussed the impact of three different approaches to the digital economy on surveillance capitalism, digital authoritarianism, and the future of liberal democracy throughout the world.

As opposed to the US’s techno-libertarianism and China’s digital authoritarianism, @anubradford explained the merits of the EU’s rights-driven regulatory paternalism, highlighting the "consensus that the Europeans have it right, at least in theory."

To celebrate #FirstAmendmentDay on Sept. 25, @1stForAll unveiled the results with a virtual event today highlighting interviews with diverse survey participants and expert analysis, which further explored contemporary issues of hate speech, the media, and cancel culture.

Freedom Forum (@1stForAll) released the results of a landmark survey asking 3,000 Americans about their views on the #FirstAmendment. While some Americans lack knowledge about their rights and are divided over its regulation, 94% of Americans view the First Amendment as "vital."
