Want to start a High Pressure Aeroponic but don't know where to start. Here's a complete build with the parts that are needed. I haven't put any pictures in yet but if you do a search for HP aeroponics system you should be able to find a layout as to how the part work. Misting nozzles @100 psi these will keep you below the 50 micron droplet size that is a absolute for HP aeroponics. Anything larger than 50 microns is a waste you might as well do low pressure and save yourself the expense and headaches. I use them but I'm not happy with them. They are easy to clean. You will also need one of these for the expansion tank. ** You can buy the cheaper version of these in plastic but if you do make sure that your expansion tank is mounted so that it can't move around. When filled the tank is heavy and will break the plastic fittings. Been there done that.

Here's something else that I found makes the system build easier. They hold the misting nozzles spray line in place inside the tote. Drill a hole snap it in no sealant no leaks the 1/4 line snaps in place. Just make sure you don't put them where the spray heads go. You have to have some kind of a pressure gauge. You can buy a cheap one and then regulate the pressure from the pump.
I also use this pressure gauge to regulate the pressure it's not necessary but it's made life so much easier, it's not cheap. If you get this I recommend another extension cord that you can cut in half to wire this for the pump. Your pump plugs into this.

You have to have some kind of a strainer before the pump, it has to be able to filter things larger than the size of the misting nozzles. I use a 100 mesh filter. It's cheap. One of the things to keep in mind with a see through filter like this is that algae will grow if it gets sunlight. I wrap a dark bag around mine. https://t.co/qPfGrFihVp
Solenoid located as close to misting heads as possible with out getting wet. These come in many different voltages. Make sure the one you chose is labeled as normally closed. I've also used cheaper version of these with no problems. I lean towards stainless. If you chose to go with the AC110 solenoid get a extension cord long enough to reach the controller. Cut the female end off and wire to the solenoid. Unless labeled on the wires coming off the solenoid it doesn't matter what wire goes to where on the solenoid.

If you go with DC don't forget the extra wire to get you from the solenoid to the controller. Depending on how far you run your line 14 gauge should be more than sufficient.
Speaking of controllers here's a AC110 version that I bought and it works. Most of my setups are controlled with a homemade micro controller that handles several solenoids at once it's a lot cheaper than buying one for each solenoid / grow chamber. If you go this route remember to get a solenoid that runs on AC current.

I think you will find this little bag helpful. I like to put a shut off valve on the expansion tank, on the by pass line and right before the solenoid. This allows me to isolate things if I need to change something with out depressurizing the whole system.

I use several different kinds of nutrients mixes but this one is the easiest and it hasn't failed me yet. Use the green bag for growing the plant and the other bag when it starts growing the fruit.
Don't leave the bags open it will draw moisture and screw up the measurements.

Speaking of bypass line. It is used to bleed the air out of the system when you need to clean the strainer or open it up for what ever reason. l have a Y or tee fitting coming off the line before it heads to the solenoid with a valve from package of listed fittings. When it's need open it a little and point it into the nutrient mix until it runs a smooth stream. When doing this shut off the valve coming from the expansion tank don't forget to turn it back on again when all the air is gone.
I use totes for most of my systems and have always had trouble with roots eventually covering my spray heads. In my last build I put them on the side about 6 inches from the top. I don't run a line with spray heads down the middle of the roots I offset the spray heads so that they are aimed between the roots instead of directly at the roots. When laying out the holes in the lid of the tote I keep in mind how plant placement and spray heads will work together. In the large tote 20x32x16 deep I'm guessing at the numbers but there close, I use 10 spray heads 3 down each side and 2 on each end. For clones this works great I'm testing it for the first time on full grown plants so far so good. I'm using an on time of 2.5 seconds and a off time of 3 minutes @100 psi. with a cut in pressure of 85 psi.
On a 1/4" line I don't recommend any more than 10 heads.
You might be able to find cheaper fittings but keep the pressure rating in mind I don't like anything that isn't rated at a min of 140-150 psi. If you use plumbing parts that'd normally be hooked to city water they only have to have to be rated to 85 psi.
When looking for fitting your pipe size and threads are 1/4" OD, threads are NPT. If your in the plumbing section at your local hardware store remember there is difference in pipe size plumbers us 1/4" ID you need OD. That doesn't mean you won't find what your looking for in the plumbing section just be aware of the difference.
Besides the tote and a nutrient reservoir .I think I've listed everything needed for a High Pressure Aeroponics system. If I've missed something drop me a comment and I'll fix it.
For starting plants from seeds I use these they're flawless and work great when transferring into HPA. To use I cut holes in the lid of a disposable plastic container just big enough for the little plastic cups to set in. I fill the container so that the water level comes up about a third of the way onto the grow medium.

If your one of those people that what to experiment with it there is a cheaper way it's how I started.
Buy a cheap RV pump about $20 or less one that pumps up past 100 psi. it comes with its own built in shut off somewhere around 116 psi. This will eliminate the Aquatec pump and the pressure gouge that's a saving of well over 200 bucks. You will need to buy a cheap inline pressure gauge. If I was you I'd buy 2 pumps that way when one shots craps you have a backup. If you buy a pump that has 1/2" male treads for the in and out the rest of the parts listed above will work. The first pump I bought lasted about 8 months the other 1/2 dozen lasted from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.
