This all began in my late 30s with a routine check-up—one that likely saved my life by revealing Medullary Thyroid Cancer early. Urging my partner @johnhering to get checked opened our eyes to a dysfunctional healthcare system, where problems are often discovered too late.

Pavel Durov's arrest in France is a chilling blow to free speech and a betrayal of Western values.

I have known Pavel Durov for almost two decades. He is the most principled person I have ever met. He stood up to Putin, Xi Jinping, Khomeini and others in defense of liberty and freedom and at a great personal risk, including losing his home country and surviving a serious assassination attempt by at least one of these rogue nations. It is shocking that a Western nation is now threatening to imprison him.

Telegram is used by millions of people in deeply autocratic and oppressive regimes to provide a safe platform for communicating without fear of repercussions from their governments – from the Hong Kong protests, to the protests in Belarus, to the over 50 million Iranians who are using the platform daily despite it being banned there.

Pavel should be seen as a champion and defender of Western values. What is happening right now to free speech in Europe is a perversion of our value system. Now more than ever we need to stand for free speech, against government overreach, and importantly, we must stand unwaveringly with Pavel Durov.
