The Maritime Investment Fund is envisaged as a catalytic platform to mobilise long-term institutional capital, bridge equity financing gaps and accelerate investments across ports, shipping, shipbuilding, inland waterways, coastal shipping and maritime logistics. The discussions reflected a shared commitment towards strengthening India’s maritime ecosystem and advancing the vision of a globally competitive maritime nation.

Exercise #KhaanQuest 2026

The multinational peacekeeping exercise #KhaanQuest 2026 concluded today at the Five Hills Training Area, #Ulaanbaatar, #Mongolia. The closing ceremony was attended by Major General Baasandamba Dashtseden, Deputy Minister of Defence and Lieutenant General Ganbyamba Sunrev, Chief of General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, who commended the professionalism and camaraderie displayed by all participating contingents.

Bringing together contingents from 18 nations, including India, the exercise enhanced interoperability, joint peacekeeping capabilities and humanitarian assistance under the UN Peacekeeping framework. The #IndianArmy demonstrated high standards of professionalism and operational proficiency during joint training and simulation-based exercises alongside partner nations.

Exercise Khaan Quest 2026 reaffirmed India's commitment to global peace, UN peacekeeping and multilateral military cooperation.

The SbDS Brownfield Shipyard Capacity Expansion Portal is now live, providing Indian shipyards with a seamless, end-to-end digital platform for submitting and tracking proposals under the ₹8,261 crore Shipbuilding Development Scheme.

Designed to enhance transparency, efficiency and ease of doing business, the portal enables real-time application processing in accordance with the newly notified SbDS guidelines. By supporting capacity modernisation, technology upgradation and infrastructure expansion of existing shipyards, the initiative will strengthen India’s shipbuilding ecosystem and accelerate the nation’s journey towards becoming a globally competitive maritime hub by 2047.
