Oxford is having an important conversation today about the future of its own local police department, and I hope every decision begins with the people who call this community home and the men and women sworn to protect it.

I grew up here, and today I'm raising my family here. I went to school with several of the men and women who now serve in law enforcement across our district. They're our neighbors, the parents at youth sports, and the people who answer the call when our community needs them most. That connection between local law enforcement and the communities they serve is one of the things that makes towns like Oxford so special, and it's something we should never take for granted.

Throughout my career, from building a business to leading organizations through complex decisions, I've learned that good leadership isn't about asking only, "What's the cheapest option?" It's about asking, "What creates the strongest outcome for the people depending on us?" The best leaders understand that investing in the people carrying out the mission is one of the smartest investments any community can make.

That principle applies here.

Public safety isn't simply another budget consideration. It's one of the foundations of a thriving community. The men and women who wear the badge deserve leaders who will ensure their voices are respected and have the training, resources, and support to operate at their highest level. When our officers are equipped to succeed, families feel safer, businesses are more confident investing, and neighborhoods grow stronger.

Oxford's leaders have an important responsibility, and my hope is that every decision reflects what's best for the community, supports those entrusted with protecting it, and strengthens public safety for years to come.

Politics has become too comfortable with absolutes.

One side insists every election is broken. The other insists there is nothing to look at. I don't believe either approach serves the public very well.

Recently, Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan dismissed newly released federal election data as "laughable" and "fake news." If the data is flawed, then show us why it's flawed. If the methodology is weak, explain it. That's what public servants should do. Aggressive certainty without verification is not leadership. Public confidence is built through transparency, not dismissiveness. Unfortunately, this exchange reflects a pattern we've seen from Congresswoman Houlahan before: legitimate questions turned into defensive political theater, and met with rhetoric instead of reason.

Throughout my career, I was hired to walk into organizations with conflicting reports, incomplete information, and people who were absolutely convinced they already knew the answer. One lesson stayed with me: professionals who investigate complex problems rarely deal in absolutes. They ask questions. They verify facts. They reconcile the evidence before drawing conclusions.

That's how I think we should approach election integrity.

The evidence does not support claims of widespread, nationwide fraud. At the same time, pretending every concern is beneath discussion doesn't build confidence either. When questions are raised, we should examine them honestly, publish the facts, correct mistakes where they exist, and move forward.

I support commonsense safeguards like requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. I also believe those safeguards should be implemented thoughtfully so eligible voters aren't caught in unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles. Good policy protects both election integrity and access to the ballot.

This shouldn't be about scoring political points.

It should be about earning the public's trust at a bare minimum.

🚨 "That's Laughable": Rep. Houlahan MELTS DOWN Over Voter Roll Numbers

Last week, @RepHoulahan brushed off LindellTV's @alisonintheknow when questioned ahead of Trump's election interference announcement: "I'll wait with bated breath. I have no interest in the president's opinion."

This week we followed up, Steinberg pressed her on the 278,000 non-citizens found on voter rolls in newly declassified docs. Her tone changed fast:

"That's laughable. That's all I'm going to say."

- Called the documents "ridiculous" and "absolutely fake news"

- Accused Steinberg of "reporting fake stories to the American people"

- Closed by calling @POTUS's speech "laughable" and Steinberg's reporting "destructive to the American way of life" and "You should feel embarrassed."

From "there's no evidence" to calling declassified documents "fake news" in less than a week...

Only a matter of time before we’re reading a similar story about Pennsylvania.

PA’s Auditor General released a performance audit of PennDOT’s Motor Voter process earlier this year. One of several vulnerabilities the audit uncovered was that PennDOT employees could leave the immigration status box unchecked, which defaults to citizen and triggers the voter registration option. The audit recommended (among other things) that PennDOT require staff to fill in the immigration/INS/citizenship status field for every driver’s license or ID application.

To date, this recommendation hasn’t been implemented.

Put together, these disclosures reveal an election system so broken and vulnerable that no one can possibly defend it. Hundreds of millions of U.S. voter files are in the hands of foreign governments, our machines and ballot-counting systems are exposed to hacking and manipulation, China and other countries have been trying to meddle in our elections, evidence of fraud has been buried, hundreds of thousands of non-citizens and dead people are listed and active on the voter rolls—and yet, we still have elections with no Voter I.D., no Proof of Citizenship, and tens of millions of ballots floating aimlessly through the mail.
