Remember, startups are marathons disguised as sprints. The urgency of now should not overshadow the vision of tomorrow. Pace yourself, for the journey is long, and true success unfolds over years, not quarters. Savor the process.
This chart by @Redseer amazingly sums up the excitement in the Indian tech industry. The 1% to 10% jump will have to be on the back of 250-300 new-age companies going public in the coming decade. Might take longer, but we'll get there.
I've seen a few threads recently about the power law in venture capital and what this means for individual company returns. We looked at our data on 11,350 companies backed by 259 funds from 1986 to 2018. /1
I think your 20s is about the particularly earth shattering realization that you can get what you want!! but you might not really enjoy what you thought you wanted so badly when you actually do acquire it
The concern is that Instant Pot went broke because it sold durable goods, saturated its market, and they didn't need to be replaced. In an alternative system, would we
A) Have a multi-year waiting list for People's Instant Pots so consumption was steadier?
B) Continue producing the People's Instant Pot after everyone bought once?
C) Shut down the People's Instant Pot factory once everyone who had one wanted one, and have that factory and those people make something else? (i.e. what happened here, but with different terminology)
Economic systems don't change the fact that some things get purchased repeatedly and some get purchased just one time, and that demand for the latter will fluctuate more and be harder to predict!
.@deepigoyal admitting how zomato’s branding was never intentional &they’re actually cool by fluke is in tandem with a theory I have that is — even tho it seems like it, successful people can rarely exactly articulate what got them to where they are, cause that knowledge is tacit
@akshayalladi@anupammanur The clearest sign that this is a moral judgment is that healthcare and education are exempt. Those are "legitimate reasons to go abroad". Travel for travel's sake? Not kosher.
