Notice how quickly all that bullshit about liberating Iranians disappeared, and now it's all about bombing them back to the Stone Age, destroying their bridges and universities, poisoning their air and water, and stealing their oil.
The Reform proposal to "scrap indefinite leave to remain" for people who ALREADY have this legal status basically questions every concept of fairness and due process.
It's saying "it does not matter if you played by the rules, the rules can change any time after the game has started". It's a dangerous precedent - first it's migrants, then whose rights can be retrospectively removed?
Everyone who applied for indefinite leave to remain after 5 (or 10 years under some routes) played by the rules, paid their fees, satisfied the criteria for ILR, including the language and other tests part of the process. Having indefinite leave to remain is good for integration.
What Reform are saying to people whose lives are here, whose families (in many cases, British spouses or children) are here, is "we don't care if you arrived on a legal route, played by the rules, you can be deported any time because we want to win more votes on an anti-migration platform."

@RupertLowe10 With all due respect, go jump. As an American who has been here since 2010 married to a Brit, ILR was a stabilising moment in my visa journey, where I no longer had to jump through whatever new hoops had been dreamed up by Tory politicians. I’ve paid more in tax and NI than most!
@BandQ Could someone advise what do I have to do to receive the missing part of my home delivery order? I'd like an actual answer rather than being told the store is allegedly going to contact me (they won't, they don't even answer the phone).
@CommunityFibre Can you please explain why none of your CSAs are able to connect the internet at our new address after days of phone calls and conflicting info after each call? We are now being held ransom by your extortionate termination fees with zero internet to show for it.
@LloydsBank I gave up trying my cards, my husband also tried one of his Lloyds cards which was declined again, he eventually used Apple Pay, which worked. I then was able to use contactless with my debit card at another outlet. IDK about texts as am on airplane mode in the US using wifi.
@LloydsBank what’s going on with online banking & debit/credit card transactions? Have tried to use both debit and credit cards from the US and also tried to add money to a Wise card, nothing is working…
Reminds me of our current landlords who have bitched about replacing the boiler a couple years ago despite the fact that the one in here when we moved in had about 3 condemned stickers ripped off of it and now they’re serving us a Section 21, but by all means, fleece us BONE DRY.
This is when being a landlord is not fun. It will be a random Thursday morning and you’ll get a £2,000 bill out the blue.
Personally, I think the tenant should cover this 🏡😔
For anyone waiting in the interminable @LloydsBank fraud queue from hell I got through in 2 hours 27 minutes. No real reason for my block except that they're initiating more 'fraud checks' with random combos of transactions, moreso in December due to the 'volume' of transactions.
@LloydsBank@ughthusiast Can you please be honest with us as to why there are a ‘higher demand of calls into Fraud than normal’? Lots of us with cards blocked for no explicable reason & it’s impossible to get through to anyone. This doesn’t seem like a blip.
@ossieclaret@UnpricedD@LloydsBank Mine is/was blocked just tapping in at the train station this morning - the same station I always go from! I’ve sat on the phone twice and have had to hang up, so watching all these Twitter threads with dread for my evening ahead…
Who else is tired of Netflix docs featuring gen x ‘celebs’ from the naughties begging for attention? Sitting in their multi-million pound mansions reflecting on how ‘difficult’ their lives have been?! 🤢
🔴BREAKING:
