@RedRunnerLea@jjtweeter@MichaelDoudna The logistical technology that is used to track where staff is for the planes has essentially fallen down on the job. According to some of what I've read on this, almost all other airlines have tech where the employee can make appropriate changes. SW uses phone calls to IT.
@Marilyn96574540@Ligeia48204841 @MikeSington Hospitals often find a way to make it so those kinds of staff positions are provided a place to sleep and resources to stay on site. More often there's a lot of less essential (this time off the year, retail is one) that has these kinds of rules.
@Trilly_Joel@ksdknews Perhaps. Here's a comment from a Southwest Employee that explains the internals of the issue. Sounds like a case of neglecting internal tech modernization coming back to bite them. https://t.co/sNb84qRsMq
@MarkShelly14 @KevinLewis7News @SouthwestAir@AmericanAir "their resulting effects" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here. Just vague enough to be just about anything that breaks under a heavy load of traffic in tech-speak.
@HarvardPsychic @StoicWisdomNow@ML_Philosophy And many of those things are never taught to us. If we're lucky there's a mom to call to assist on mentoring through some of those challenges. Their dad? Not much help because he didn't DO those things. They were "mom's job".
@FELICIAGOMEZ8@StoicWisdomNow@ML_Philosophy That last point is the same for women, fyi especially as they are becoming a larger part of the educated population (recent demos have more women graduating college than men).
@DFeldsien @UmarLeeIII You're being pretty ethnocentric, you know that, right? They have their holiday for family time, it's just not the same as yours. Same for Jewish cultures and Hindu or Buddhist.
@knowitall143@britannia1707@ChrisMoore000@AllistairMcCaw *shakes head at the guy trying to call you out when you're actually verified not paid* They obviously didn't do their (easy) due diligence. It's easy to tap it and find out if it's verified or paid.
@ShelfNerds She's not shown and not on the Enterprise by the time of those picture, but Keiko Ishikawa. She'd be the one who's job would have changed the least over the centuries as an botanist.
@bowdoinandcolby@RepJasonSmith And if he rebukes that media as being "woke" a Forbes link was published. While his base may go "elite" over that media, his string-pullers won't let him get away with it.
