Four years after the 9/11 (2001) when we visited this Lower Manhattan site from the adjoining World Financial Centre, almost the entire World Trade Centre debris had been cleared. There were no remnants of the two iconic towers, each 120-storey tall. Twelve years later, in 2017, when I visited the same site with a Kashmiri doctor friend and his 8-year-old son, there was a new design iconic tower-- the 102-floor One World Trade Centre. From the top floor we watched the entire Manhattan and New Jersey areas, Statue of Liberty, Staten Island..

Nine years later, the same boy, son of a Kashmiri doctor father and an American doctor mother, is standing with Wes Moore, the Governor of Maryland. He is now 17 and a student of class 12. He has been elected as 'Governor' in a competition of nearly 40,000 student representives from the entire State of Maryland. In the next 15 years, I am sure and I wish, this boy of amazing leadership qualities and passion will be the Governor of Maryland. Congratulations to him, his affectionate parents, siblings and teachers.
