am pretty confident that ai can ship polished games but you still need to do actual engineering and art direction. The ai won't look at a screenshot and say "hmm doesn't feel right". it's been really nice for shaders btw but you gotta be able to explain mathematically what you want
@thekitze been cooking a world for a few months and barely done with environmental because there are just so many details that need to be right. ai helps unlock things i wasn't able to do before but getting things perfect still takes time and taste.
My Gpt-4o approach was: generate shitty textures and penrose tile them to get rid of artifacts then do d4 ops in a shader to make it look irregular and blend biomes to remove tile artifacts LOL. so much better now... just using straight noise and Fable can actually do what i say
if you're gonna pass it thru a toon shader anyway then maybe the fine structure matters less and you can gain perf by reducing octaves. Fable 5 has been a great exercise in "you don't need brush strokes you just need taste" gonna see how far i can get without textures
fable 5 one shotting full games after 48h uninterrupted will produce something imagined, but never what you imagined. you need to be in the loop if you want to realize what's actually in your head.
Double whammy because you don't realize the message was lost to the void until 10-15m later when it's done Flibbertigibbeting from your previous message. So at that point you've truly forgotten the exact wording and unless you're eidetic, the exact idea is gone forever. Wild.
Harness just dropped a chat message due to bad Wi-Fi. Realizing that this is basically the same thing as having a novel idea and then getting sidetracked for a few minutes and forgetting what you just thought of. Harness quality is super important.
@jaltma@altcap Tangential but that's why I wear a fitness watch. Can't imagine going back to not tracking my sleep, steps, heart rate, etc. Still blows my mind that the current status quo in healthcare is to measure yourself once every 6 months lmao.
@0xPBIT Beautiful trend line, there's a wonderful science to artificial intelligence. It seems not by accident that information theory and physics have so much math in common.
