zcash crashed 64% when claude opus 4.8 found a counterfeiting bug in the orchard pool that survived 4 years of human audits. two lines of code fixed it. now the tachyon team is building a lean 4 formal verification proof for the ironwood pool that mathematically eliminates the entire vulnerability class. not "we tested it thoroughly." mathematically impossible. funding rates hit -60% annualized, shorts at -150% on some venues during the crash. ZEC sitting at $467, up 87% from the june bottom but still 31% below pre-crisis. the binary catalyst is formal verification completion. if tachyon ships, zcash becomes the first privacy protocol with machine-checked proof that counterfeiting bugs cannot exist. that's a different asset than what the market is pricing
