@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah Or, are you suggesting that Israel propped Hamas and were waiting for them to strike? It's as if you're saying hamas is a Mosad group.... And what kind of war plan is that? What's the purpose or benefit?
@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah So imagine Isreal launches a war against Hamas in Gaza in 2018 in response to this info... How would the optics look like? In war and politics, you need a valid and clear incentive to start a war so it's justified to the public
@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah Claiming that Israel or USA initiated that war is a false premise. Iran funded 7/10 which attacked a US ally, constantly threatens US and Israel, funds their proxies in the region that cause instability in the region full of US allies and important trade routes.
@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah They weren't, they were just allowing funds to pass through to it since hamas is governing their neighboring Palestine. But let's assume they created Hamas, does that mean the "Palestinian resistance" is also Isreali? Hence invalid resistance?
Project Hail Mary writer Andy Weir on social commentary in books:
"I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that."
"I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that."
"To that end, I also don’t talk about my personal political opinions publicly. I don’t want readers to even know, honestly. I don’t want that in the back of their minds as they read my stuff."
Is this why he has the #1 sci-fi movie in decades?
Pedofili är lagligt i islamiska republiken Iran. Små barn gifts bort till vuxna män.
Idag på internationella kvinnodagen uppmärksammar vi de flickor som feministerna inte vill prata om.
@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah I'm by no means trying to glaze the west. Shit happens there, but it's incomparable with the middle east. The concept of organizing a riot or demonstration alone isn't an option here. There's bad, and there worse
@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah The IRGC is literally invading 2, maybe 3 countries via their proxies: Hezballah in Lebanon, Houthis in Yemem, and Hamas in Gaza. They're causing a lot of disruption and death abroad, and oppression to their own people. Millions of Iranians escaped to seek refuge in the west.
@Turne12860Aidan@DDGSarah You mean there are flaws in western countries? Absolutely. In the UK they also arrest people waiving the union jack. But you simply can't compare that to non-western countries; demonstrations or any sort of dissidence is absolutely prohibited.
@KellyKilfeather@DDGSarah In the middle east, or authoritarian Muslim countries, power doesn't shift organically in the way you describe. It's a coin flip, depending on how the next ayotallah is like. However I do agree that the toppling of those regimes should be done by foreign countries.
This pre-January video is being circulated by regime apologists as "proof" that Iran was a great country to live in and wanting to overthrow the regime is invalid. https://t.co/W3QKvhLzj3
I'm gonna do another plug here because it's very relevant. If you like reading genre fiction (particularly romantic thriller), I invite you to read my book Sealed in Blood. There you'll read a bunch of scenes of ordinary people genuinely having fun, living, and loving, but you'll also see the dark context that these accounts want to hide from you.
You'll step in the shoes of two Iranian women who just want to live, like the people in this video.
Disclaimer: It's a sapphic romance, so don't go near it if you have a problem with LGB (and don't tell me if you do--I don't want to know).
