@TheLakersReview I don’t think it will necessarily be worse but I also don’t think it’s going to be way better and that’s the issue. Everyone knew last year’s defense wasn’t close to championship level and while Kessler is going to help as a rim protector we’ve somehow gotten worse at the POA
Collin Sexton is a good player offensively, and one that has opportunity to be utilized better.
Defensively he stinks and has his entire NBA career. 8/8 years with F grades in D-LEBRON, 7/8 F grades for Defensive Talent (along with a D- in his 316 minute 2021-22 season).
Among rotation POA defenders he has F Perimeter Iso Defense, B+ Ball Screen Nav, D Help Defense, C Rim Protection, and F DReb Talent metric grades.
His career high D-LEBRON would’ve been last for the Lakers last season among real rotation players.
The Lakers now have no tradeable first-round picks over the next seven years and have committed $475 million to Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler, per @BrettSiegelNBA
@TheLakersReview Don’t think he’d actually want to live in San Antonio but if we’re talking best shot at a ring that would be the spot. They kinda need a guy just like him
LeBron choosing the Lakers was genuinely one of the best moments I’ve had as a Laker fan in my life. I literally jumped out my bed and called my sister when it was announced. Him winning a title here was another. Just really restored the luster to the org it had lost in the years without Kobe or contending and I’ll fight anyone who says he isn’t a “real” Laker.
#23 hanging in those rafters forever #thankyouLeBron
BREAKING: LeBron James will continue his NBA career for the 2026-27 season and has informed the Los Angeles Lakers that the franchise can move on without him because he will play elsewhere, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN.
@JustRyCole Last offseason where they’re gonna have this level of cap space and flexibility for a while so it’s a big one in turns of shaping what the next few years of the Luka era look like. It’s a big offseason for this era
