We had a fascinating discussion with Mike Wagers of Axon. Anyone in the law enforcement world knows the name and the advancement of tech in our day to day duties. We talk about the origins of the company to what is on the horizon. Episode 123 is out and available on all streaming platforms. @axon_enterprise

Officer Darron Burks, #12543 - EOW: August 29, 2024
Burks was shot and killed while sitting in his squad car. As officers responded, the suspect shot two more officers and was later shot and killed. Burks had served with DPD for eight months and is survived by his parents.
Fact check: Dallas has experienced 49 fewer murders in 2025 compared to this point in 2024 - putting us at 6.29 murders per 100,000 residents. Lower than LA’s 6.95!
Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, 48, was shot by a sniper during a protest in downtown Dallas on July 7, 2016. Twelve officers were shot—five were killed and seven wounded. Senior Corporal Ahrens died on July 8. He was a member of the Dallas Police Department for 14 years.
With heavy hearts but strong spirits, members of the @DallasPD stood alongside North Texas agencies in the annual Run for the Blue 5K. We remember and honor the five brave officers who gave their lives on July 7, 2016. Their courage inspires us to keep running forward every day.
💙 OFFICER DOWN 💙
AMBUSH IN LUBBOCK
Two Texas Tech Officers were ambushed and shot. Other officers returned fire, killing the suspect. Both Officers are in stable condition and expected to fully recover.
This is the daily reality for Texas law enforcement.
We stand with the wounded.
We honor the brave.
