@prerat From a cursory search I've seen generation benchmarks of Google's Veo model range anywhere from ~30s-2 min. Volumetric effects are obviously capable of running in real-time (16ms/frame at 60fps) and just employ an iterative method of approximating the density/bounds of functions.
@ibuildthecloud haha, I used to do this on the school-issued chromebooks... slapped some iframes in the body, added an address bar, and the web history was obfuscated. didn't get around the site blocker, though
@fraxiommusic frax be careful theres an evil version of you called "shadow fraxiom" wandering chicago rn who serves as the main antagonist of Nintendo's 2002 GameCube title Super Mario Sunshine
@NonEuclideanDr1 oops, just now realizing i used ^ ambigously. I meant it to indicate exponentiation! see my revised function x**e (mod m)... the modulo input in RSA is actually a very high degree polynomial (though during encryption it's almost always 65537)
@pebblehumper funny I have the opposite stance, I like playing mewgenics in theory but haven't once wanted to open the game in months.. id argue tboi is a better game but tbh it isn't scratching any itches for me either atm
@noinconsistency hah I remember after I watched my dad program when I was a kid I typed a bunch of nonsense into textedit hoping it would look colorful too
@JKoukourakis be careful building general purpose engines! years back I sunk months into an engine project and ended up with a weird mash of ECS and rendering systems, but no game.. nowadays I implement things as needed. dedicated tools may be worth it if your games share common systems though
LLMs have been around for decades, I was in cog sci and nobody thought they were a pathway to general intelligence. The fact that they are being passed off as that right now is straightforward fraud.
Thread is interesting bc of people arguing about whether Gaussian splats are "AI" or not (implied: is it bad / should I boycott it?).
Really shows the problems of using "AI" to refer to such a heterogeneous collection of technologies.
@nicbarkeragain don't forget that if a song is in your library, there is only "show album in library". and if you thought clicking on the artist name from there would nav you to the artist, you actually get an hstack of songs by them you've added. only then can you find "show in apple music"
