Companies concerns about employee side-projects can be dealt with in contracts and company policies. Topics include illegal/ illicit projects, projects competing with the company, conflict of interest and rules around doing projects on company time.
Disagree (and borderline loathe) companies that disallow side-projects in their employment agreements. It's not right to dictate whether people earn money from their hobbies. #sideprojects
