@ElaichMarouane@aramh Ignoring SSH, the thing is a well made GUI can do most of these too and do so much more, sadly however most don't. TUIs are very limiting which has some advantages like forcing you to make them simple but also a bunch of downsides of shit you just can't do
@link_arzu Hyprland has a feature called "special workspaces" which allows you to overlay your current workspace with another one (and you can obv keybind this), you could probably use this to rebuild something akin to what you're doing on Mac OS
You'd usually move windows across multiple workspaces and just switch between them
The point is IMO not having to micro manage windows anymore, e.g. I use a center master layout where one window is always at the center (usually my editor) and everything else I open gets balanced on the left and the right
I usually also have dedicated workspaces for certain programs like chats, email, etc.
@bee_fumo This video could've been interesting if they were testing in a low RAM environment and would compare how each OS behaves when it runs out of memory (and Linux has historically not been great at this 😅)
The biggest downside (at least for me) is that it becomes really hard to circumvent regional restrictions.
Right now I can just buy e.g. a Japanese game from Japan and play it as is but after these changes you need to maintain a foreign store account which is a lot harder. This is btw also a problem on Steam and any other digital storefront, I have truly no reason to own a console anymore ig 😅
@KCsLeftNut@2Toxic2Built@bee_fumo > You can't change the gamma on wayland, still.
In Hyprland I can just:
hyprctl hyprsunset gamma 80
> Also most apps are broken on wayland
Some don't work (for reasons), but "most" is quite the stretch no? Like what do you need that doesn't work?
@anelgarhy@kiyov09 It does a lock file but no lazy loading althouth on most plugins this is either not needed or you can control it yourself with the after dir and some lua
