One of the many joys of working in Ardnamurchan is working with the fantastic Ardnamurchan Heritage & History Association. They've been bigging up our Twitter feed over on Facebook and we wanted to do the same! Check out their Facebook page to hear about all their amazing work!
Wk 1 and we have dug 27 test pits, undertaken a whole lot of resistivity, with a bit of evaluation of this, and opened, cleaned and planned the west end of the possible mill structure that we initially revealed last year. Not bad for five days! I think we might deserve a day off!
We are back! And so happy to be here!
ATP19, our 14th season, begins with a site tour of Cladh Aindreis Neolithic tomb and the Viking Boat Burial, by @ArchaeoCobb and @OJTH
We'll be training Archaeology students here from @UoMCAHAE & @ArchAncHistLeic for the next 3 wks
Heritage & archaeology peeps! Can you please this share the existence of this new group. Aim is to develop a buddy system for women in the profession, & match up people working across heritage to provide support and advice https://t.co/pJSqcLN3wL @CIfA_Equality#WomeninBusiness
@JudithJesch delivered a remarkable Key Note on the Viking diaspora of Scotland. Including some outstanding #OldNorse poems. Tempting to think the #Ardnamurchan Burial belonges within these verses.
It was an absolute pleasure to be @GovanStones tonight for the Key Note lecture of the @ScotlandVikings conference. Can’t wait to hear about the amazing Viking archaeology from Scotland discovered over the last 20 years, including the amazing Colleen Batey talking about our #VBB
@OJTH That looks like some high quality first aiding right there. ATP19 will be a safer, and ultimately more stylish, affair with that head bandage in the mix.
