So @atribble reports that as she was walking to her office today, she heard someone whistling “The Farmer in the Dell”. Coincidence? I think not.
“A man gotta have a code.” Indeed. Words to live by.
@PhilTribble @EuroHistProf There’s zero reason to think masks are harmful to kids’ health. In fact, they may be helpful in preventing exposure to other viruses, as well as allergens (asthma attacks). And not only will masks protect kids from COVID, they will also keep schools open.
Fantastic conference! Thank you to all the organizers and speakers. Perhaps the best takeaway? We should consider rebranding ASPs as Antimicrobial Sommelier Programs. Love it @InfectiousNeo #PIDSASP21
Agree! @JKellyTrustee's comments are incredibly offensive to healthcare workers. Our top priority is the health of our community, including teachers. And no one had to beg us to work in riskier conditions w/o vaccines for 9 months. Many would've preferred to teach kids in person.
Peds infectious diseases specialist here: Teaching a small group of asymptomatic children with masked students and staff is VERY low risk. This has been proven in unvaccinated populations. We told #a2schoolboard this but they prefer to rely on "feelings."
350+ physicians and mental health providers petitioned #a2schoolboard urging reopening of schools. @a2schools Board of Ed Trustee Jessica Kelly responded by questioning their right to speak on this issue. See the letter and those who signed: https://t.co/B4wylF21fM
