@GowagsKyle @LemonsClement How do you think about it? Halfway from 2nd to 3rd on a ball to the wall? A third of the way? When the OF makes an over the shoulder catch, you’re probably not advancing to third. If you tag up and the ball drops b/t the OF and the wall, you still have a great chance to score.

Tough day for youth baseball in #AnnArbor. Many, many games will have to be canceled. Meanwhile, the youth field at Veterans Memorial Park with the least damage (field #4) is being used as a dog park instead of a youth baseball field. ⁦@A2GOV⁩ ⁦@TravisRadina⁩

@CoachDavidKlein Maybe you can champion a change in travel ball age cutoff from May 1 to September 1. If you’ve yet to experience the 14U team age problem, then you will eventually.

Are there any states that use May 1 as the cutoff for school age? Then why does travel baseball use that date?

@jdflynn Also, kids won’t learn to hit if you have them bunt. Bunting works at younger ages because the defenses aren’t very good. But in the interest of developing players, bunting should only be allowed once kids have proven that they can hit.

@MichaelSLinden @mattyglesias That’s a distinction without difference. Gross income is more than AGI, but the impact on average effective tax rate by income level is minimal. Maybe you want to lump in SS and Medicare taxes with income taxes? SS and MC benefit structure preferences lower incomes.

@balkwhisperer @NeashamKris Is “gained ground” the standard? NFHS rulebook says step directly toward the base and NFHS casebook outlines the 45 degree concept. “Gained ground” appears nowhere in either document, and I don’t think it does in OBR or NCAA, but I don’t have those memorized.

@umichvoter Associating “Medicare for All” with free to consumers bothers me as misleading. Ask anyone on Medicare and they’ll tell you that they pay quite a bit out of pocket for it every month. The premiums might be deducted from Social Security checks, so less painful, but seniors pay.
