The discourse around Charlie Kirk is yet another reminder that the whole entire conservative model relies on 35-year-old men debating inexperienced college students.

I remember 2019, when Ben Shapiro faced the indignity of having to go up against Andrew Neil, an experienced professional, and he got destroyed. He lashed out. He called a renowned conservative broadcaster a “leftist.” Because when forced to go up against someone who was on his level, he found that he actually *couldn’t* defend his ideas quite so well when they were placed under scrutiny.

This is the core, fundamental fraudulence that lies at the heart of the American conservative movement: they can’t truly defend their sick and depraved ideas unless they’re playing the game on easy mode.
