The Bigcoin/Abstract “FUD” from armchair experts is so pathetic—as if those people have any morals or ethics or understand how the economy works.
The global economy has not produced any +EV products for over a decade.
Your Amazon Prime you use to ship you goods overnight? That put 20 million brick and mortar mom & pop operations out of business.
Using Instagram? Profits largely come from IP theft from Chinese copycat products advertising.
YouTube Premium and Netflix subscription? That put hundreds of movie studios out of business.
Spotify subscription? That put millions of musicians out of business.
Ticketmaster? Do you get where this is going?
Guess what, the blockchain—any blockchain—is going to do the same for worldwide money games. Whether it be digital casinos or Las Vegas, if people can coordinate amongst each other to transact—which, blockchain provides for them via the freedom to transact—then they will coordinate.
They will create fun games.
They will create novel distribution mechanism for assets, whether they be valueless tokens or tokenized equity.
They will create Ponzis.
Now get on the train for the ride or cope harder.
DO YOU ALL UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE LEGAL OBSTACLES PREVENTING THE FLOW OF MONEY INTO DEFI AND ALL OF CRYPTO. THOSE BARRIERS ARE SLOWLY BEING CRUSHED IN DC BY CONGRESS AND ONCE THE SWITCH IS FLIPPED DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE PRICED OUT OF @LilPudgys@pudgypenguins
There is no 'next Pudgy Penguins.' Just like there was no 'next internet.' Pudgy Penguins is the singularity, everything else is noise. If you don’t understand this yet, you will later.
Not a good take unfortunately.
As long as @pudgypenguins is growing, $PENGU is accumulating latent value.
It’s about value accrual through ecosystem strength, not short-term token mechanics. The biggest misconception in crypto is that value must be directly and immediately extractable from a token.
But look at how successful Web2 unicorns work—most of them don’t monetize from Day 1. They build a moat first: network effects, distribution, brand power. Then, monetization follows naturally.
So, the real signal isn’t “what’s the next utility drop?” but:
👀 Is the brand growing? (YES—Pudgy toys, licensing, mainstream adoption)
👀Is the community still engaged? (YES—people still care, create content, and drive conversations)
👀Is the company still innovating? (YES—new products, IRL presence, ecosystem expansion)
@pudgypenguins growth is the foundation of $PENGU ‘s future. As the ecosystem scales, the token will naturally find its place.
The more we penetrate mainstream culture (toys, licensing, content, partnerships), the more undeniable the network effect becomes. The token benefits as a secondary effect.
Even in a bear market, as long as people are vibing, creating, and believing in the bigger vision, value is being built.
At the end of the day, people need confidence that Pudgy isn’t going anywhere. As long as that’s true, $PENGU isn’t just another random memecoin—it’s tied to something much bigger.
Regardless of price, the actual ecosystem is leveling up, and that’s the real alpha.
We will be at the right side of history.
wild how much fud Abstract has received since launch.
here's a pov from a builder on Abs:
1. gigaverse traction with a $0 marketing budget:
let's start with the real juice.
we (1) bootstrapped our socials to >60k+ followers in under a month, then (2) minted out 6900 NFTs in 10mins on "the bloodiest day in crypto since ftx".
then we launched our game a week ago and (3) have been seeing strong player engagement across all metrics (in game, discord chatter, streaming / creators) and (4) consistent growth - especially since yesterday.
we gatekept player signups for the first week of the game but now that we've opened signups as of the last 24hrs, new player signups are exploding.
its exciting. there's plenty of traction to be had in the Abs ecosystem, and like us - you don't have to spend to get it.
2. support from Abs team:
back in Oct/Nov, we considered a bunch of chains aside from Abstract but the team quickly stood apart for being ultra responsive, proactive (surprisingly, many teams are reactive, vs proactive), and go to market / consumer oriented.
this has held through since their launch, even on days that there's clearly a lot going on. Their responsiveness + support has been unwavering across GTM / community (eg Phin & Pedro & Mason) as well as tech (eg Coffee & Beans & Cygaar & Jarrod) and others in the crew.
they've also got a good sense of humor which is underrated when collaborating with ppl tbh.
3. their strategy/approach:
Abs has been criticized for deterring farmers / not juicing TVL to billions out the gate.
I do think farmers are important but there's 2 things to call out here: 1/- we've seen what over-catering to farmers & mercernary gamblers does (Blast) so its not necessarily *the way*, and 2/- its far easier to dial up your allure to farmers than scale it back later.
Their approach has been different, and opinionated which I like. The common pov in my groups is (ironically) that Abs is worth engaging with / "farming", given that its not been overfarmed right since launch.
I do expect we'll see more & more active wallets on Abs over the weeks & months ahead. But in the meantime, going back to point # 1, we've seen very healthy traction in gigaverse already, despite the chain not having billions in TVL.
4. marketplaces:
my main gripe has been with marketplace UX. it seems Magic Eden is winding down support for ERC721c and so it plays clunky on their marketplace (eg people get given gigantic gas estimates when trying to transfer an NFT via their UI).
there are other marketplaces, like zkMarkets (run by a chad), but its a smaller operation than ME and does not yet have support for ERC1155 collections (such as our game items).
hoping that we either see zkMarkets continue to grow, or we see OpenSea add Abs support soon.
5. creators:
this one's quick & easy. Abs has a strong and genuine creator culture and apps & games will have no problem finding strong creators to collab with. I'd like to publish a list soon of recommended creators / ppl I've met who are cool & great at what they do.
6. Abs portal & AGW
The portal is clean & well designed acts as an all-in-one hub for Abs enjoyoors. Their app discoverability features work particularly nicely. Would love to eventually have more stuff I can do via the portal as a builder -- for e.g. airdrop stuff directly to specific wallets / certain badge-holders on Abstract. pls add to backlog!
AGW unfairly received heat recently because of cardex's botched implementation. Session keys are fine to use (and lead to a nice UX) when the app doesn't screw things up. The intent of AGW is obviously to deliver a superior UX to crypto newcomers and I think it already achieves that. The ask most established users have is ofc, to not *have* to use AGW and I think that's a fair ask. I believe this is already something that's being considered or worked on.
In the meantime, gigaverse has been happy + not seen any issues using AGW as our ONLY sign-in method.
7. Wrapping this all up
tldr - we're having a blast (lol) on abstract. Is it all perfect? no ofc not. but like us, they are listening to feedback & shipping. this is the way.
