We've been quiet recently because Mark Goodwin and I have been working to write the most comprehensive investigation into Polymarket's origins and ambitions to date.

We found that Polymarket's "official" origin story, that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and then built "the company in his bathroom", is a lie. Polymarket really started years earlier as another company called TokenBnk that was deeply tied to Israeli interests, specifically a crypto company founded by Benjamin Netanyahu's niece and nephew. Coplan has actively tried to obfuscate this company from his story and it's not the only thing either.

In Part 1 of this two-part series, we unravel the real history of Polymarket, directly connecting the company to Peter Thiel's efforts to resurrect controversial DARPA programs from its now defunct Information Awareness Office. Polymarket appears to have been chosen by Thiel and his associates to succeed in resurrecting DARPA's Policy Analysis Market where another Thiel-linked company, Augur, had previously failed.

We @adc are representing the owner of Poetica Coffee in NYC, whom DOJ, via Harmeet Dhillon of the Civil Rights Division, has been persecuting because he wrote a social media post indicating that Rep. Dan Goldman was not welcome in his coffee shop because of his pro-Israel voting record.

Goldman didn't make a complaint to DOJ office of civil rights, and neither did anyone else, about unlawful discrimination at Poetica. Poetica has never turned anyone away or declined to serve them because of race, religion, or national origin.

Yet, DOJ is pursuing this frivolous investigation in order to retaliate against Parvis for his First Amendment protected speech critical of Israel and an elected congressman.

Now Parvis is fielding death threats left and right, and is terrified for his family's safety.

NYPD is investigating two credible threats. Just an hour or two ago, envelopes full of white powder were delivered to all 7 Poetica locations: all shops are now surrounded by emergency personnel trying to figure out if the powder is actually a dangerous substance.

Everyone is responsible for their own behavior. But when the government puts a target on someone's back--in this case, merely for expressing his opinions about a powerful political official and a foreign nation--it has consequences. It's not just some random individual on the internet.

This weaponization of DOJ is unacceptable. It is destructive. It is the opposite of justice. It must end.
