Happy to see our paper published in @PNASNews today!! We show that tundra vegetation can substantially boost its volatile isoprene emissions in response to rising temperatures. A great collaboration with many colleagues @ERC_Research#TUVOLU@Riikka_Rinnan https://t.co/mcrLPc47UZ
Ready for a week of #EGU26 !!
Let me know if you want to catch up. And do not miss our poster on mountain birch forest VOC emissions, Thursday 10:45-12:30, Hall X1, X1.7
We are looking for a PhD student!
Do you want to analyze gas and particle urban pollution in Barcelona using real-time mass spectrometry? See link for further info ๐๐ผ
๐ขWe're offering a 4-year #PhDcontract to study organic pollutants in the urban atmosphere.
As a PhD candidate, you'll conduct high-time-resolution measurements of VOCs and aerosols at our urban supersite.
Deadline to apply: 7 November

I would like to introduce our new paper in Nature Communications, which is the result of a highly successful international collaboration with @VOLT_center , @Riikka_Rinnan , @atzukac , @LundJing , @lejishvettikkat , and other great collaborators. We found that the sedges in the Arctic have a different temperature response curve compared to other known isoprene emitters, which explains the high temperature sensitivity of isoprene emission observed through whole-ecosystem flux measurements. By integrating our findings, the updated model predicted a 20% increase in isoprene emissions from the high-latitude regions in the Northern Hemisphere. We also found that the existing model had underestimated the long-term trend of isoprene emissions by 55% for high-latitude regions with Arctic warming https://t.co/sAvAbye4Gx.
Last week I gave 2 talks to students:
1๏ธโฃ @INSCelesBellera middle schoolers (13-year-olds) about air pollution caused by automobiles ๐๐จ
2๏ธโฃ @FisicaUB master students about the use of micrometeorology ๐ to measure ecosystem gas fluxes and a visit to IDAEA's air monitoring cabins
๐Open positions alert!๐
We are soon announcing several positions at @VOLT_center in Copenhagen. Lab manager, data analyst, postdoc, PhD student... Stay tuned!
Big #thanks to all the staff at the Abisko Scientific Research Station @polarforskning and the students and other colleagues based in the area for their help during all these years!!
Funding by @AgEInves and @DFF_raad
