Is the Dangote Refinery the new nightmare for U.S. refineries? Are they unsettled that Nigeria now owns the largest single-train refinery in the world? Are they worried about Africa finally stepping toward the energy independence we’ve been denied for decades?
Has the Dangote Refinery shaken the foundation of U.S. energy dominance? It seems so. The idea that an African nation could refine its own crude oil at such a massive scale and even export refined products clearly did not sit well with those who have profited from our dependency.
Now there are strange signals coming from the U.S., with open talk of attacking Nigeria under the pretexts of Christian genocide. Some may frame it as a religious or human-rights issue, but if one connects the dots, the picture becomes clearer, this is about something much deeper.
If you think critically, it is not hard to see that the real target may be the Dangote Refinery itself. Weakening it would mean stripping Nigeria of its newfound strength and returning us to the old cycle of dependence.
So this is not about religion. It is about control.
The Dangote Refinery is more than an industry. It is a symbol of what Africa can achieve when it refuses to be limited. And that, perhaps, is their greatest fear.
