@jineshshah36 @prisma This extension does additional things like prefilling the stream (always have rows ready to consume), which I believe is cumbersome to go through manually, among other goodies.
I am among the folks who love these "encapsulations" and feels it makes my developer experience better!

@jineshshah36 @prisma You're perfectly correct! You can always do things "by hand" and it is a perfectly reasonable approach to things. Some, however, prefer abstractions, and this is what prisma extensions are about. They encapsulate functionality that you'd usually do verbosely and repeatedly.

@jineshshah36 @prisma One use case that I currently employ in a user-facing production application is data export. It was not practically possible; fetching everything in-memory then for-looping and writing to response stream. Now all is handled neatly! inc. stream prefill and back-pressure etc.
