A couple our local koala population having a Barney over territory last night. Who would have thought koalas could thrive on a #cotton farm? It all comes down to #riparian management! We take it seriously.

@JPlovesCOTTON @MACS1258 Balancing $ vs effect is part of the research, method is used in horticulture very effectively, but they are small area, high insect number releases. Scaling up to large areas & effective population release is the challenge. We are using $ of spray app + Chem as a starting point

@karinstark79 It’s a novel concept, we’ve found enough merit to Pursue it further, worth mentioning @bugs_are_us @therawbucket have reduced their insecticide use to nearly zero over many seasons by other methods-there’s a lot to learn if you’re willing to explore!

@karinstark79 This is our 2nd season of bulk releases, they are tricky little buggers to find in the crop so most of our data is anecdotal, based on slw numbers rising before release & parasitism of nymphs increasing exponentially after release. Early days & lots to learn!
