The situation has been rectified & common decency prevailed. Remember a small thing @cathaypacific can make a big difference! Shame it had to get to this point & there are still some aspects of the interactions I’ve had that I can feedback on should you wish to hear them. Thanks.
@cathaypacific Thank you Sean. I have replied to your DM. I know a few people who are interested in the outcome of this so I hope my experience reaches a mutually favourable conclusion after the rocky start.
After exposing their customer service lies & misinformation the @cathaypacific silence can be deafening. Not once did I feel like they were on my side/truthful/compassionate. I’m not unreasonable & now as a matter of principle I will fly back with them but never again
“It’ll take some time”.. vague & by which time my flight will have left AUS. Thanks for nothing @cathaypacific . If you’d been serious about helping it would have happened on Tuesday when I called, or Wednesday when I DM’d or Thursday when my mum called as she didn’t believe it!
I don’t see any mention @cathaypacific that if I were to provide a death certificate that you would be able to help me as per our DM conversation. I would also still like a transcript sent to me of my phone conversation & my mother phone conversation yesterday.
@cathaypacific Can you please send me a FULL transcript. You are picking one line that was mentioned when the context of the conversation was about my fathers ashes. INSENSITIVE & WRONG.
@cathaypacific If you’d listened to the conversation correctly I was asked to provide an original death certificate to allow me to take my fathers remains with me which in itself is ridiculous as the original copy had to stay with my mothers legal team.
@cathaypacific Will it be today Dan? Unless it’s today there is no point & I will not believe that there has been any sincerity in cathay’s attempt to rectify the situation.
@florabunda01 @cathaypacific @cathaypacificAU @cathaypacificUK@Qantas Nothing from @cathaypacific yet .. I’ve provided them with all my details & told them they need to contact me & rectify the poor customer service sometime this morning as my flight is this evening.
Outraged my request for some baggage leniency after my fathers death to bring back sentimental items to the UK has been rejected out of hand by @Cathaypacific staff. “Nothing they could do”. This is NOT true & the heartless behaviour has ensured I will no longer fly with them.
@cathaypacific have been good in the past as I always fly with them LHR - MEL but it’s the hard times that reveals a company’s true colours. I was amazed they weren’t willing to do anything at all.. or even entertain THINKING about it. Wouldn’t pass me onto their seniors either.
P.S - While I’m at it, if you read this you might enjoy seeing his #nasaselfie photo (see attached). His inherent curiosity for everything space is adequately captured in this photo & I will forever miss him ❤️
Dear @NASA, I do not mean in any way for this tweet to be a sob story but I am impelled to ask for your help. My father passed away on Wednesday morning and during our family reminiscing I discovered that his most treasured childhood possessions were old NASA brochures. He would
importantly my entire universe & the reason why I graduated university as an Aerospace Engineer. I was wondering where/how I would be able to find old copies of these brochures to have as a memento & give them back to him in spirit some 40 years later. Yours sincerely, Nick.
