Great conversation with Arun Gupta with @noblereachfdn yesterday at the American AI Festival. We discussed how through @USTechForce, @USOPM is strengthening the talent pipeline to ensure government can lead in AI.
A lot of AI policy focuses on what to do in the next year, if not the next few months.
That's why folks like @calebwatney (@IFP) & @austincarson (@SeedAIOrg) are so important -- they're asking long-term policy questions to set the US up for future success.
It's also why this is such an important @scaling_laws episode.
@deanwball "the challenge now is to deal with the legitimately sci-fi issues we face using the comparatively dull idioms of technocratic policymaking" is a serious challenge, indeed
I will begin offering my GPT wrapper next year, it's called "an attorney prompts AI for you" and the plan is I run a prompt on your behalf so federal judges think the output is legally protected
This is the first of many efforts I shall call project AI rent seeking at bar
The next unlock for AI agents just launched.
@CoinbaseDev released agentic wallets, the first wallet infrastructure designed for AI agents.
Now agents can spend, earn, and trade autonomously and securely.
Today's Utah AI Pre-Summit Workshop was fantastic! As I was leaving, I was asked to share how the workshop was a valuable experience. I responded quickly and easily: It was exactly what effective and productive collaboration looks like and feels like. I brought an idea and the team made it infinitely better!
I am grateful to have spent the day learning from talented individuals who are committed to embracing the potential of AI while troubleshooting the pitfalls.
And special thanks to the hosts, sponsors and partners who made today's workshop possible!

I wrote about collecting better AI adoption data in my essay this week
This proposal from @SeedAIOrg (@josh_a_new + @austincarson + @MMarina171819) is a great contribution!
They suggest that the AI labs report enterprise token counts by industry

Surely there's a couple people doing the RLHF for erotic roleplay and I wonder who they are. do they have their own benchmarks? do they share their work at conferences?
“The people in the government actually want to hear from you. It’s an unprecedented opportunity” - @austincarson, Founder and CEO of @SeedAIOrg, on bridging the gap between policy and innovation in the tech space
#SFTechWeek
hi! we just launched SF + LA Tech Week and it’s crazy to say (I know I say this every time) but it really is true - it’s the biggest one yet. we’ve broken more records and now have 1,500+ events, over 2x last year’s launch!
SF Tech Week: Oct 6-12
LA Tech Week: Oct 13-19
Register for events here: https://t.co/Ow2I62jXkH
SF is on fire, on track to be home to the biggest Tech Week. When we first started @Techweek_, it was right after COVID, and we saw so many founders relocating outside the Bay Area to cities all over the US. That first year, SF Tech Week was actually the smallest. This year, it’s set to be the largest. We’ve doubled the number of SF events at launch year over year, a clear signal showing just how much the AI wave is fueling the city’s growth. And this is shaping up to be *the* week for tech in the city.
LA was home to the very first Tech Week, and it’s special for me to see how much it’s grown. What makes LA unique is the mix of industries here. We’re seeing two in particular take off - AI in entertainment and deep tech. The best part is how the ecosystem really comes together around Tech Week to champion the city, with so many LA investors and GPs hosting.
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we’ve heard from attendees is that now that Tech Week has gotten so big, we need more ways to discover events most relevant to you. So, this year we’ve put together curated tracks: future of work in SF, entertainment in LA, investor-focused events, hard tech, fintech, hackathons, and more.

Lawmakers are racing to regulate AI—but who’s helping them shape the rules?
On the Cyber Focus podcast, @seedai_org CEO @austincarson warns:
“The fewer people we have involved, the more dangerous it is.”
