This guy right here! It’s been an honor to graduate (back to back) with you - one of the hardest working scientists I’ve ever met, and one of the nicest people around. Wouldn’t have wanted to go through grad school with anybody else! Congrats buddy!!!
The C-arylation paper is finally out! Conducting this research was a real herculean task for our team, and I’m very proud to have been part of some of the most hardworking and teammates. I hope you all enjoy this paper because this is some cool chemistry😎

I’m beyond excited to share with you all the central project from my PhD. We report an extremely potent (0.2 nM!) and selective (19,900-fold!) inhibitor for CYP1B1 and study its interaction with the protein through biochemical and computational techniques. I hope you enjoy!
Wow, @austinchachey's latest paper is out!!! This fantastic work showed how he changed geometric features and functional groups for a HUGE increase in selectivity for our target CYP! Design of Cytochrome P450 1B1 Inhibitors via a Scaffold-Hopping Approach https://t.co/zUUs7asLLb
Old Ru(II) complexes new tricks! Here we report our study on Ru(II) complexes with expanded chelate rings for photoactivated chemotherapy. Work done in the @GlazerChemLab and Selegue lab @ukychem. Thank you @austinchachey@RJMitchell1219 for your help

Take a minute to check out this excellent new study from my old friend @dan_wise1 and his colleagues reporting a mild, ozone-free photochemical cleavage of alkenes to produce carbonyls. Great job, all!

@roby_bhatt This is fascinating. My partner tested + by PCR Dec ‘21. I took PCR tests for a week afterwards, all -. Neither of us were symptomatic. She was re-exposed 1.5 wks ago and we have continued to test - by antigen. I figured I had to have abs. I would love to see our serology data 😂
This is one of my favorite papers in JACS in recent history, the experiment design is innovative and elegant. Could be easily adapted for folks interested in designing new photodynamic therapeutics.
Congratulations to Dr. Dmytro Havrylyuk @HavrylyukDmytro, who was just awarded an Institutional American Cancer Society pilot award to target CYPs for potential cancer treatments! Way to go Dima, and many thanks to @UKMarkey and @AmericanCancer! @ResearchKY@ukychem
@roby_bhatt@AlexJaraCarta@kyraltaylor@chienlab I took biochem II with Dr. Chien! First prof. I had in college that lectured on a topic as it was being reported in real time - CRISPR! Pretty incredible experience in retrospect.
@nippleointment This sounds ingenious as I 1) rarely use my n-BuLi and 2) regularly see 70% humidity in the lab. As an aside I didn’t connect the dots that you’re milkshake until I followed you here (we cross paths on reddit once in a while in the chempros sr)
I’ve always thought parafilm would be great to have around the house, except that it’s expensive — and that I would be ashamed to explain what it is, and what it was doing wrapped around the leftovers, to my significant other…
