In the English nursery rhyme Little Miss Muffet which dates back to 1805, the eponymous heroine is feasting on “curds & whey before being disturbed by a spider. A dish thought to be cottage cheese or junket, a milk-based dessert with a jelly like texture.
My all-time favorite line from literature is from Pride and Prejudice: "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." Jane Austen kicking things off like a Regency-era matchmaker with a wink.

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead...

A witch ought never be frightened in the darkest forest… because she should be sure in her soul that the most terrifying thing in the forest was her.
