The student loan system is broken. If the loans were made to be paid in a given time frame, like houses (15/30 years) it would be obvious from the begining that the payment amount has to be larger in order to pay a reasonable amount of principal every month.
A payment of a 60K loan can't be $300 just like you can't buy a 60K car for $300 payment. To be paid in a reasonable amount of time a larger payment has to be co figured so a meaningful amount can go to principal.
@OutofSpecDetail I wonder how many people get in a taxi thinking ..." I want to be able to control the exact speed and distance to the car in front" ... wonder how many people think that way today.
@CoutingB@thunderf00t Yeah, because China is barely accomplishing what Falcon 9 did 11 years ago. Way to root for the other team.
Perhaps you're Chinese?
Right. And, has Starship landed on the moon already? Different to other contracts, SpaceX will not be sucking at the tit because things did not work. SpaceX has to deliver or eat the losses.
Any develpment setbacks has to be eaten by SpaceX.
So whether SpaceX has zero setbacks or lots its no tax payers that are on the hook, is SpaceX.
Just some actual facts, emotiins aside.
Starship is funded by:
SpaceX's own revenue (e.g., Falcon 9/Heavy launches, Starlink).
Private investment rounds and valuation growth (SpaceX is a private company valued in the hundreds of billions).
No direct taxpayer subsidies for core Starship development—it's primarily self-funded to achieve full reusability.
@RightScopee Not at all. Thanks to him USA is at ghe forefront of many technologies that are extremely valuable and saving lives.
Lots of people are paying taxes for our country and many have become wealthy working for his companies.
Only possible fact is 2nd sentence. Rest is pure BS, as usual.
You can read the rest as there has been so and si accidents involving cruise control ... take the manufacturer of the vehicle out of the roads.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
FSD or AP are Level 2, just like cruise control is.
@SawyerMerritt What about "Return" ... when you have departed but forgot something or left something behind ... typing address (maybe this the first time you went to this place) is less than ideal.
How exactly this is more efficient than Falcon 9 catch with that insane structure to maintain with many more moving parts and failure points?
Just because the legs do not fly with the rocket?
Falcon 9 is legacy tech (a Decade plus old) that is why they do not invest any more time improving it.
Starship is the improved version of Falcon 9.
@RealDanODowd@elonmusk Yet you have accomplished nothing in all these years.
My 2024 Tesla drives me everywhere, I only intervene at parking for convenience reasons.
@CannedDock@SawyerMerritt I have always wondered how they can get away with blocking intersections so often.
A human would go to jail if behaved like that.
