New paper out in Plos One !
By integrating group identities and affective polarization in opinion dynamics, we show that out-group intolerance is the main driver of ideological polarization.

One year in the making, eight authors, a truly collaborative effort. It's been a lot of work, but we hope the community will like it.
Comments welcome, RT appreciated!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of presenting my work on "Anytime-valid, Bayes-assisted, Prediction-Powered Inference" at the @NewtonInstitute. This collaborative work is gaining significant attention.
The preprint is already available online: https://t.co/oK7gNo9mzQ.
Happy to present my latest article in @PhysRevE ! In this paper, I show that the Voter Model can predict individual opinions in a large, heterogeneous online population.

I study a retweet network collected during the 2017 French presidential elections where accounts of political entities are fixed as reference points. I show that in its equilibrium state, the Voter Model correctly identifies ground-truth opinions of more than 92% of the users.
A new study using models based on disease spread shows both positive and negative interactions can drive #EchoChamber formation — where people only hear ideas that reinforce their own beliefs.

Hiring a postdoc in higher-order social dynamics: we will be doing models AND experiments (!)

In Barcelona, of course ;)

Hey! Are you a "new" member of the Complex Systems/Network Science community?
We present CORE an organization that gathers all the information you wish you knew when you started your journey. Seminars, schools, conferences... All in a single place!

Happyly co-chairing 2 organised sessions with @TVGsociologist at the #Sunbelt2025 conference @SocNetAnalysts in Paris June 23-29
Our sessions are "Elite Networks" and "Network approaches to political dynamics". Only 4 days left to submit an abstract! https://t.co/8RYfjlqKsE
The elections have closed, the votes have been counted, and the new members are... 🥁🥁
@MarikaSa_ , Yasaman Asgari and Miguel A. González-Casado! We are excited to work with you the coming year! 🎉
🚨 New paper alert! 🚨 How do echo chambers form in signed networks? 🤔 A new study by @avdeville and myself explores the role of structural balance in shaping information flows and inducing echo chambers. 🧵👇
Super proud of this work !
I show that the ubiquitous voter model can effectively predict individual opinions of Twitter users 😎
This marks a new step in the study of the empirical validity of theoretical models for opinion dynamics !
