If I flip a coin and it lands on tails, would I think it couldn’t have landed on heads instead? That something happened does not mean it was guaranteed, he’s reasonable to think so

A core theme of this show is defying destiny. Izuku becoming a hero, All Might surviving, Endeavor becoming a decent person, etc.

It doesn’t worsen the story, it is the story!

His growth is from someone who would sacrifice his life for others to someone who would do everything he can to live for others. While it was out of his control in the end, his death would’ve cheapened that somewhat

@HPbasketball Maybe, but the way this guy talks and feels is so authentic…I don’t know if a narrative could ever overpower his voice (for me, at least). Maybe he starts saying some out of pocket stuff, but other than that I just have a tough time imagining it
