Adam Hamilton on transgender rights:
“I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.”
“I’m gonna love the trans person as well as the straight person, male or female. We have to do better than picking on small groups. What’s happened is we’ve turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”
remember that you and your partner didn’t come from the same home, with the same experiences, habits or way of communicating. you’re going to process things differently, show affection differently and react to conflict differently. that doesn’t automatically mean one person cares more than the other. sometimes loving each other means learning how the other person works instead of expecting them to respond exactly like you would. respect the differences, stay curious about each other, and keep trying to understand where the other person is coming from.
i fear the hottest relationship dynamic is when a woman acts like a chaotic creature and the man finds it deeply amusing instead of spiritually exhausting
Being asked a really good question feels phenomenal. The type of question that leads to a thoughtful conversation where I almost have to collect my thoughts before diving into it. That scratches my brain so goood. It makes me feel so known and desired
Adulting advice??? Use your weekend to go out, treat yourself and enjoy being alone. Learn how to make yourself enough for you without needing someone by your side. Make yourself your one and only partner that no matter what will always be there for you.
Your entire life can really change in a year. You just gotta love yourself enough to know you deserve more, be brave enough to demand more, and be disciplined enough to actually work for more. You can do it. You got this.
breaking up a relationship in your late 20s is not easy
especially when you love the person. when you could have easily married them. could have talked to them every day. woken up next to them every morning
knowing you’re walking into your 30s single, when it would have been easier and safer and more traditional to just make it work somehow
but also knowing, deep down, that you weren’t good for them and they weren’t your person either
and that the kindest, most loving thing you could do for both of you
was to walk away and focus on yourself
i’ve never loved myself more than i do currently and next year i’m going to increase it. everything i want will be in my lap or in my hands and i do mean everything
i heard a lady on a podcast say...."I finally get it...I am the problem. I walk into people's life with energy, loyalty, love, and peace they never had...and truthfully, never deserved.
i disrupt their comfort zone of chaos. they're not used to real. they're addicted to dysfunction. that's why they start acting weird... because my presence requires growth, and they aren't ready for that.
cool I'll take a step back. keep your mess. i’ll keep my peace!!
