Tweeting at me the names of Jews who are cretins and miscreants (e.g., Bernie Madoff, Harvey Weinstein) is not the mic drop that you think it is. Yes, there are countless dreadful people who are Jewish as there are innumerable lovely, honest, and kind Jews. This applies to any group of people. The issue is whether it's their faith that made them do it. Madoff did not use a verse in Deuteronomy to set up his Ponzi scheme, and Weinstein did not quote a passage in Leviticus to justify his sexual assaults. Let us, on the other hand, suppose that you are anti-circumcision. Then you can criticize Judaism's edict regarding circumcision given that it is specifically sanctioned in the religion. Hence, when I critique Islam doctrines, I am specifically focusing on a set of ideas. I don't ascribe dispositional traits to Muslims and yet I am insulted in the most grotesque of ways for being Jewish (I'm vermin, a rat, a parasite, a snake, etc.).
