A new paper by Takumi and Avijit has been published in JACS. With this method, complex oligosilanes can be synthesized iteratively like DNA or peptides. We hope this opens up a new Si chemical space.

A nanobonsai was synthesised using the Si-iterative synthesis method as a demonstration. In fact, the synthesis was relatively simple. This may be useless, but it should be popular with high school students visiting the university!
